A "double curved clips" mint error happens when a coin's blank is punched from a metal strip that has already had a hole punched in it, causing two concave, arched indentations (clips) on opposite sides, often resembling a bowtie or hourglass, due to a major misfeed in the blanking press that overlaps previously punched areas.
This error is rarer than a single curved clip, resulting from the blanking die hitting the strip in two places where it shouldn't, creating a distinctive "double-clipped" planchet before striking
PLEASE NOTE: there is some light scratching on the slab itself.
