Charles E. Barber’s iconic Lady Liberty has fallen to the zombie plague. While she once symbolized freedom and opportunity, she now sends portents of death and disease.

Her once-beautiful face is immortalized on the obverse of this, the 2018 Barber round. But Barber’s model, Anna Willess Williams, never looked like this. Her face is ripped and torn where she shuffled past a brutal attack, the scissors still embedded in her eye. She was wounded in this close shave with death, but the brain survives, and so the zombie continues to roam.

The rim of the obverse reads THE BARBER and 2018. The 13 six-pointed stars continue to dance around the rim, moving to the Danse Macabre.

The reverse of the Barber copper round reminds the bearer to use caution. A biohazard symbol splattered with blood is reminder aplenty, and the rim reads CURRENCY OF THE APOCALYPSE, ZOMBUCKS, 1 OZ .999 FINE COPPER
